Pros: gas mileage, styling Cons: a bit sluggish off the line, small gas tank, no power locks The Bottom Line: Looking for a great little SUV with big SUV looks and classic americana charm that gets 26 MPG without paying over 17K? PATRIOT.
I just leased a 2008 Jeep Patriot Gold/Khaki with 2-tone beige leatherette interior for my fiance. (BY THE WAY..she LOVES the small suv she named it Goldie) It is the sport edition 2.0 L I-4 (smaller engine) CVT transmission. CD player, and not much ...

Pros: Low price, Great Looks Cons: Weak engine, cheap interior, poor towing capacity, noisy, poor ride The Bottom Line: The 2008 JEEP Patriot is a poor value when you consider the only thing that truly makes it a Jeep is its looks.
I recently had the opportunity to drive the 2008 Jeep Patriot Sport version for almost a week which I'm basing my impressions upon. STYLING The design of the patriot is unmistakeably JEEP and beautiful at that. The lines are straight, but the car ...

Pros: Looks, price, features, and gas mileage Cons: Interior materials The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle because it is a good car for its price and class
The world is becoming greener by the minute. As a result, SUVs become less popular. However, it is harder for certain areas to be as green as others. For example, in Wyoming driving a small car might be practical when it comes to gas prices, but once ...

Pros: Quiet, Safe, Smooth ride, Inexpensive, but not cheap, will save you money at the pump. Cons: Small engine, slow acceleration. The Bottom Line: For the consumer looking for a small SUV with limited off road capability and great gas mileage, it's a great deal.
I just bought a 2008 Jeep Patriot. I looked at just about every single small SUV on the market and was about to give up when I came across the Jeep Patriot. I was looking for something that was inexpensive, simple, good gas mileage, and had plenty of ...

Pros: Style, gas mileage, quiet ride, easy to drive, utility, lifetime power train warranty. Cons: CVT transmission produces uneven power output, interior plastic could be higher quality.
Yikes! I hate it when a product is slammed by comparison to one idealized standard. No, the Patriot is not perfect, but it does very well in balancing out the door price, style, and practical utility. My 2008 FWD automatic Patriot with the 2.0 liter engine is getting 26-27 miles per gallon in a combination of highway and city driving. I find the front seats comfortable, and I prefer the highway ride to the Honda CRV. Autostick allows you to simulate shifting. You can buy a Patriot for the same amount of money you would pay for compact car-but with a better ride and more utility-depends on what you are looking for.

Pros: price, simplicity, ride, 4wd, fuel economy Cons: engine noise, storage space in front cabin, dealer selection
I initially looked at the jeep because I wanted a 4wd vehicle with decent cargo room, easy on gas that would not set me back $30,000+. I test drove all of the small suvs on the market. I instantly decided on the jeep. For the money, this is the best in the class. It rides well, has the most cabin room and storage space. In fact, it has all of the attributes of a midsize or large suv. All for around $19,000. After reading the reviews here and the professional reviews, I opted for the manual transmission. It has great pick-up and no problems with power. Picking the manual made locating and test driving the jeep difficult, as many dealers think they will be hard to sell. For all of the complaints about the cheap materials on the inside, the reviewers are correct. But hey, I didn't think I was buying a BMW. The materials are nice, just not white table cloth. It is a great car for the money.
