Pros: Fun driving but practical substitute for mini-vans. Well positioned in a very competitive league. Cons: A bit stiff riding with 20-inch rims. No cargo cover in the 2008 model. The Bottom Line: The more buyers research the mainstream crossover market, the more appealing the Mazda CX-9 becomes.
The suddenly revved up crossover market has given a number of automakers an opportunity to prove themselves in this relatively new vehicle genre. Where one wouldn't have considered a Hyundai, Buick, Saturn, or Mazda a couple years ago, today new car ...

Pros: Handling (compared to competition), sporty driving position (ditto), upscale interior (Grand Touring) Cons: No substitute for a good sport wagon, not personally a fan of the exterior styling The Bottom Line: About as fun-to-drive as large crossovers get. But if you don't need the third row, and are an enthusiast, you'll enjoy something else more.

Pros: Beautiful exterior styling, option packed, value priced Cons: Limited interior colors, cheap looking plastics, choppy, bumpy ride in rear. The Bottom Line: Definitely worth a look. Drives like a sports sedan. Loaded with features.
Interior needs some refinement and then Mazda has a winner and will sell every one they build.
We are currently searching for a replacement for my wife's Acura MDX. We need a third row vehicle but my wife does not like to drive the large suv's. Fortunately there are now many options in the smaller cross-over suv segment. We have looked at ...

Pros: Blue-tooth phone, automatic lift gate, proximity key system, back-up camera, Blind Spot Monitoring Cons: Lacks a trip computer Stale Navigation maps Ride is sporty, but a bit stiff The Bottom Line: If you need a sporty luxurious SUV with seven passenger seating, this is the one! It easily compares to higher end SUVs.
I've owned my CX-9 Grand Touring since May 2008 and have a few thousand miles on it now. It still gets a lot of attention from my friends who still think I'm driving a Lexus with Mazda nameplates on it! I'm beginning to agree with them now that I've ...
