Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Interior quality, Interior room, Versatility, Price
Cons: Noise at high RPM, Seats lack support, Unmemorable exterior design
The Bottom Line: The Versa is the roomy alternative to its tiny competitors, just don't expect it to excite the senses.

Introduced to the US market in 2007, the Versa is Nissan's super-sized alternative to the Honda Fit, Chevrolet Aveo, Hyundai Accent, and Toyota Yaris. While all cars in this class are inexpensive, offer decent gas mileage, and provide good utility in ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Gas mileage, passenger space and comfort, flexibility, SMOOTH ride, safety.
Cons: A/C Vent location, high price after options, small trunk when seats up.
The Bottom Line: If you want a peppy car that gets good gas mileage AND has space for backseat passengers plus several luxury amenities, this car's for you.

We purchased the 2008 Nissan Versa in October 2007. Our Versa is the SL model with CVT transmission and a 1.8l 4cyl engine. It has all packages but the sport package, equipping it with Bluetooth interface, Rockford Fosgate sound system with built-in ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great car, best small car I have ever driven
Cons: none at this time!
The Bottom Line: Tremendous value compared to Toyota Matrix and Honda Fit. It is extremely well engineered.

I just bought the 2008 Versa hatchback SL with the manual transmission and all available options. I test drove the base manual and the top line automatic before buying my car. While the constant variable automatic was very nice, I really wanted the 6 ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great gas mileage, just enough extra's without going overboard, very roomy
Cons: No arm rest, but plenty of space to put things
The Bottom Line: Definately recommend. I absolutely love driving this car. It has exactly enough features without going overboard and all of the room in the world for your backseat passengers.

I have the basic hatchback version of this car and I absolutely love it. At first when I saw the car at the recommendation of my fiancee I was very hesitant, but upon further inspection I was blown away. The car appears small on the outside, but once ...

Test drove, no thanks. Poorly designed Cargo area

Pros: Back seat leg room, cute little car.
Cons: Blind spots, poor design of cargo area in back.
Cute little car, was in the running initially until I drove it.

There seemed to be blind spots in visibility.

The cargo area seemed like an after thought.

A. the opening in the back seemed very small and cramped.

B. with the back seats folded down, the cargo area did NOT have a FLAT base. There is a lip of several inches between the back area and the folded down seats. NOT cargo friendly.

I'm coming from a mini van which could hold FULL sheets of plywood, so this was a show stopper for me.

It did seem to have lots of leg room for the back passengers.

NISSAN VERSA 2007 model review

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: it is one of the best in its segment.
Cons: slightly louder.
A 4-dr sedan joins existing hatchback models as a calendar-2007 addition to the Versa lineup. These compact cars slot beneath Nissan's Sentra in size and price. The only engine is a 122-hp 4-cyl. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard. Also available are a conventional 4-speed automatic and a continuously variable transmission. Front side airbags and curtain side airbags are standard. ABS is optional. Two trim levels are offered: S and SL. S comes with air conditioning and a tilt steering wheel. Optional on S and standard on SL are cruise control, remote entry, and power locks/windows/mirrors. A wireless cell phone link and keyless locking and starting are optional on SL.
