Cons: I'm never sure if I'm making 1 1/2 or 2 lb loaves.

I have used this machine with the old recipes and new (I lose the book)....It works with Canadian flour. Makes great pizza dough too. I mix whole wheat flour into the recipes... I'd say keep on trying....maybe contact B&D?...
Miracle: I had it too close to the edge of the counter and it walked off while it was mixing pizza dough. It landed on the ceramic floor with a thud and it still works!! PHEW! There is a small crack in the exterior plastic but the rest of it is fine!!

Cons: BREAD OVERFLOWS THE CONTAINER.

My wife has attempted to make three different loaves of bread with this machine and has no success with it.
She has constantly had the bread overflow the container in the machine - and either lifted the lid or (when she put some books on the lid) pushed its way down the side of the cooking container.
My wife has been following the directions listed in the manual, and is totally fedup with the machine. The recipe that she has tried (and modified to see) has had nothing but problems.

DON'T BUY THIS MACHINE - THE RECIPES DON'T WORK IN IT!

This machine does not operate in accordance with the instruction manual. The instruction manual states that regular and/or bread machine yeasts can be used with this machine, not true. I've tried baking bread three different times in this machine using three different types of yeast (quick rise, traditional, and bread machine) only to suffer the same messy results each time. The bread rises too high lifting the lid and bakes over and down the sides of the bread pan.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT - IT DOESN'T WORK!!!
