Cannons

My husband collects cannons, (models), and has over 50, and is always looking for a place to get more, and different types. Any suggestions as to where I may look to find him some unusual ones? (I have been thru the E-Bay cannons many times.)

Where I live in Virginia, there are frequent re-enactments of Civil War and Revolutionary War battles, almost all of which include appropriate artillery pieces. After one such battle, I watched as one guy loaded four cannons onto a trailer and towed them behind his Lexus SUV... an interesting anachronism.

I'd suggest frequenting re-enactments, as well as subscribing to publications that serve the needs of re-enacters. Just a thought... I've never bought a cannon!

RE: Cannons

Ebay is the best place to find unusual stuff, but lately Craigs List has had their share of this too. Give them a try.

Might give etsy.com a try...even if there's nothing currently listed there are a lot of metalsmiths, carvers, casters and the like that will usually happily do special requests.
