RE: To jewelsnow kenmore electric dryer model# 110.62974102

It seems my oasis dryer is having the same kind of problem. I put in my cloths the other day and the drum light was on but when i push power nothing happens. just like that my dryer is just dead but yet the drum light works. I had the set for less than 2 years and unfortunately didnt buy the extended warranty. its going to cost a fortune to call the repair man.
Any suggestions for a quick cheap fix?
Thanks!!

yet another Kenmore Elite dryer with PTS issues

I want to thank everyone on this site. I am a 37 y/o single mom and I just repaired my crappy Kenmore Elite Evenheat dryer with your help! The Sears tech came to my house seven (7) yes 7 times in attempts to repair my dryer without success. Yet another independent guy came once and after he also couldnt repair my relatively new dryer I went online in frustration and found you guys. I ordered two relays from Ebay at a cost of 7.50 each, installed them today and my dryer works again, yeah!!!! Thank you guys so much for the help.

RE: Kenmore Elite dryer circuit board

Aloha,

I just went a few rounds with Sears regarding washer/dryer problems on a set that is only 2 years old. Seems Kenmore Elite is a unreliable brand. I can't believe I spent good money on this set. The dryer has been nothing but trouble since I purchased it and I just had to put out another $425.00 on the washer this week.

I would like to find out if other people are having problems with model #110 67052600. Any suggestions as to how I can go about it?

Mahalo,

Toni

Kenmore Elite dryer

I had similar problems with my 3 year old Kenmore dryer. (Model: 110.74992300). The dryer would stop if the start button is not pressed continuously. Sears charged $200 for labor and the part. I was told it was some circuit board. After 8 months, I’m having problems with the dryer again. There is no heat. I’m thinking of getting a new dryer. I bought this dryer after checking reviews at consumer reports. I will not buy any Kenmore products again.

My experience

The dryer wouldn't stay running when I let up on the button.

Reading this forum, I switched the relays but that didn't solve the problem.

Something else was that when I held the button in place, the drum would turn but there was no heat. I was concerned about this because other people said they would just place a heavy object against the button to get it to work. I was afraid my problem was different and that just replacing the even heat circuit board wouldn't fix it.

But I ordered one anyway.

The cheapest place I found the even heat circuit board was on eBay for $83 which included shipping.

And it worked.

So, in my case the dryer wouldn't stay on AND I had no heat and the R2 resistor appeared burned.

Replacing the even heat circuit board fixed the problem.

How hard is it to replace the board? It's not hard at all.

But keep in mind if you don't unplug the dryer, you're risking your life.

RE: I give up. ME TOO.

My 3 year old Kenmore electric dryer stopped heating today. I just called the service number, and was told it would take them 4 days to come out to fix it, and cost me around $200. Warranty is expired, but it seems INSANE for any appliance to not last more than 3 years. I am so angry. I'll never buy from Sears again and am calling the complaint line.

My Dryer Problem

I have the Kenmore Elite 110-62952100, purchased in June '01, of course out of warranty, and I have the same problem, when I take my finger off the PTS button the dryer stops.

I have been around and around with Sears/Kenmore/Customer service and the best I get is making a service appointment for $65 plus whatever the technician finds out.

I called the BBB who told me to contact Kenmore, but their recall/product department knows nothing about this problem. Has there been anything documented on this issue anywhere but in here? Thanks.
