RE: Hart Carts, Hart Marketing Inc, 300cc Hart Carts Chinese UTVS

Call Yamaha and ask for parts for the engine - prepare to be laughed at!

Quote: hartkart
I supposedly purchased a 660 hart cart from hart marketing. On the paperwork it stated it was a 660. On the UTV itself, it states it is a 500. When I contacted them about this, they said they have been questioned numerously about this, but that it is a 660. They are saying a model 300 is a 300cc, but the model 660 is a 500cc. Why would this be different? I believe I paid for a 660 but recieved a 500. This one does have an oil filter on it. They said they quit selling the previous 500 mitsubishi engine due to many problems but now are using Yamaha engines. I contacted a lawyer, they sent them a letter stating I wanted what I purchased. The lawyer for hart marketing replied and said we did in fact recieve the right one. I would have to get a lawyer from Indiana to take this to court. When I purchased this in May, I was told by hart marketing that I could go to Yamaha for parts in the future. I am not sure if I need parts for a 500 or a 660. I did not want to depend on Hart marketing for parts ever. I have not installed the battery or gas yet. I am not sure what to do. Does anyone else believe they have the wrong engine? The reason I was originally upset is the engine cc's, now after reading reviews, I am afraid about parts, etc.

Hart Cart Crap

We just expierenced major transmission problems with our Hart Cart that's currently got 215 miles on it. It left us stranded 32 miles from the nearest town. Shawn Hart has been not only no help what so ever but extrememly rude! We are extremely interested in participating in any class action lawsuit. So here we sit with a $ 6,000 piece of crap. No parts,No Customer Satisfaction and, No Service.

hart cart parts

I bought a 300cc used so I have not had to deal with this company but, I did blow the transmission by shifting into reverse at high rpms (most cars won't take this either!) I called Dick @ 765-584-7371 (as far as I know this guy is not part of the Hart empire, it's a cycle shop in IN) and I had a new part in a few days. I have not had any trouble getting parts and I have needed a few, all were from my operation. It's not a bad machine, it's not a rhino but it works for the average joe. I've had it on some good trails and it performed fine. The winch is a little underpowered but it does what its supposed to. The brushguard needs to be moved up a few inches which makes a huge improvement on approach angles. I've put over 600 miles on it. All in all, for what you pay compared to what you could pay, it's not a bad toy!

Riped of Hart Cart

You guys need to call Kelley Baldwin at 317 398 0105. She got her client all his money back. Plus, she's familiar with the Slim Ball Shawn Hart.

Also Ed Hudleson from Locke attorney in Indianapolis has client suing him as well.

RE: Hart Cart Satisfaction

I received a 500cc hart cart about a week ago and am reasonably satisfied (so far). Like others, I did not find out about the problems others have encountered until AFTER I ordered it. The initial issues I have seen with this unit are that the roll cage mounting hardware is only of fair quality (grade 3 or worse and some parts are not very well formed), so I had to replace some of the hardware. The passenger seat belt was sticking and needed to be tweaked. Other than that, it runs fine and I have not encountered any serious problems yet.

Calling Hart about service parts, I found that they are pretty useless on some things, such as the oil filter - they have no cross reference. After some research, it appears that Fram PH6018 or JC Whitney ZX063166P will work. By the way, the engine is made by CF Moto and is model CF188.

I attempted to order a snow blade for it but decided NOT to get it since it was $450 for home delivery and DID NOT include any mounting hardware. I am going to complain about that.

RE: Hart Cart Satisfaction

I want to add that I have had 2 issues so far with the 500cc version of the Hart Cart:

1. Their manuals and labeling indicate that the tire pressure should be around 42 on the rear and 36 on the front. This is pretty extreme especially considering that the tire manufacturer says that 4 to 10 PSI is normal and 20 PSI is the maximum. This could be a safety issue. I sent an inquiry to Hart but no response.

2. The other day, the cart would not start. Upon inspection, I found a "pushed pin" (pin was not fully seated in the housing) in the cart's harness on one of the connectors going to the ignition unit. Apparently it was barely making a connection from the beginning.

The bottom line on buying a Hart Cart is that you have to be self-sufficient to own one.
