Extended Warranty Scam
I'm sure by now if you're reading this you've gotten a call from a telemarketer that "Your extended warranty has expired" and you need to renew it. I've gotten a dozen or so of these at home and work. I let the person go on with his spiel and then tell him I don't have any warranties that are expiring, and you're not even able to tell me "what vehicles" I have or own.
Don't fall for this scam even if you do have an extended warranty that's about to expire. Get your paperwork out and deal directly with the company you originally had set it up with. If in doubt call the dealer you purchased the vehicle from, they should have a record of it.
And by all means, DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER! or ANY other information.
There are plenty of posts on the internet, just search for "extended warranty scam" There's a lot of this going around. I obviously haven't been a victim and thankfully I don't know anyone that has.
It was suggested I cross post this here from General Automotive, in case you read it there.....
