Missing Pics / Titles

I've had trouble seeing book cover pictures on some pages. One entry's picture will show up in some locations, but not others. And it won't show me the image that there's no picture, it'll just be blank.

Plus I've found some entries that don't have pictures or titles. The title can only be found in the HTML title in the top of the browser.

Is this common? Should I submit a bug report?

It's less common in books than in some other categories, but it's a fairly well-known problem affecting mostly products added by a CL. No harm in filing bug reports, but so far they haven't put a big priority on fixing the problem.

I've noticed it too - most often in movies. There are some reviews that circulate on the ''Home page'' that used to have an image, but now have an ugly gray box. If you right-click on the image box when a review is displayed on the 'Recent Reviews' page, it will have a different URL than when the review itself is displayed. This site is really weird sometimes. -Dave

You can submit individual bug reports as necessary, but you're also welcome to email me with those. Andyman has asked the CLs to compile as much of that kind of information as possible. If they can file common bugs in groups, they have a better chance of convincing the overseas programming support teams of the seriousness and urgency of said bugs.

RE: Missing Pics / Titles

This problem seems to have resurfaced again. Every new book listing I look at is missing the author, title, and image. All the data under ''View Details'' is also gone, and I'm seeing virtually no outside hits on recent book reviews - even best sellers. Has anyone else notice this? -Dave

Since when has anyone been getting outside hits on Books? I have reviews in the category dating back four or five months that haven't cracked 40 total hits yet. I have another that had 146 hits in three days in November and has had five since. It comes as no surprise to me that Books reviews aren't getting any action.

ETA: yeah, it seems to be books that are less than six weeks old, give or take.

Overseas programming? That explains the odd website support issues I have seen since I came here. As a developer myself, I find they can be frustrating to both convince and talk to about software problems. The general mood is "Agree, promise and hang up".
