What are you reading this May?
I figured it was time we started a new thread for a monthly reading list.
I'm about half way through the third Harry Potter at the moment. Enjoying it, but I'm already beginning to dread the length of the next one.
What is everyone else reading?

RE: What are you reading this May?
I just finished rereading HP 1-6 and in keeping with my YA frame of mind, last week I read Libba Bray's A Great and Terrible Beauty and its sequel Rebel Angels and am three quarters of the way through East by Edith Pattou, which is surprisingly good.
Just to shake things up, I read a truly awful Laurell K. Hamilton book, Mistral's Kiss.
I've got five days of honeymooning coming up next week, so I need some good book suggestions. (Yes, I will be reading too).

Quote: dramastef ...truly awful Laurell K. Hamilton book... Might that be redundant? (Meee-owww)
Still slogging through The Omnivore's Dilemma, also working on Michael Gruber's latest (The Book of Air and Shadows). On the nightstand lurks yet another attempt to "port" chick-lit to the mascule protagonist, Dana Vachon's Mergers & Acquisitions.

Congrats, Stef! Shows how out of touch I am recently...I didn't even know you were getting married.
I meant to re-read HP, but I've got too many books on my TBR pile to do so. CurledUp.com has had some very good books recently, plus they've been able to get me a couple more that I requested.
I just finished Star Trek: Epiphany and another book that I just reviewed. Now I'm salivating over having a Reader's Copy of the last Kage Baker "Company" novel that comes out in July. Then Jim C. Hines' Goblin Hero. After that, I have to choose from my pile.

RE: What are you reading this May?
I'm only reading five books at present. I usually read about eight but a new kitten is keeping me busy. New kitty and old kitty hate each other and it's been all I can do to keep them apart. Anyway, here's what I'm currently reading:
(1.) Lolita
(2.) Time of the Twins
(3.) My Sisters Keeper
(4.) The Pariah
(5.) Tapestry of Dark Souls |

RE: What are you reading this May?
My reading list this month is huge! I don't know what in the world I'm doing.
Let's see. I'm currently reading:
The Case of the Missing Books, by Ian Sansome
Un Lun Dun, by China Mieville
Beyond the Pale, by Mark Anthony
The Dragonbone Chair, by Tad Williams
The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse, by Robert Rankin
Summer Knight, by Jim Butcher
Just finished:
The 13 Clocks, by James Thurber
Inside Job, by Connie Willis
Flora Segunda, by Ysabeau S. Wilce
The Girl with the Silver Eyes, by Willo Davis Roberts
And Only to Deceive, by Tasha Alexander
The Cradle Robbers, by Ayelet Waldman
Eye of the Wolf, by Margaret Coel
Grave Peril, by Jim Butcher
I'm probably forgetting others.
The sun is shining. I have a big stack of books. Life is good!

May Reading ...
For this month?
I am hoping to pick up MaryJanice Davidson's latest in her Undead and Unwed series, "Undead and Uneasy".
I am working through the exercises in a new text "Tarot for the Self"
A couple of new Pagan/Wiccan texts.
I am also considering re-reading the last couple of books in the Harry Potter series to get me in the proper mood for July's release.
I am working full time and going back to college at night. My pleasure reading itme is rather short of late.

RE: May Reading ...
I finished Harry Potter Monday night (review this weekend, I hope), and have started on an ARC of the new MONK tie-in novel coming this July. Loving it as I expected.

Quote: jsgoddess The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse, by Robert Rankin Calls to mind my favorite Easter Card: a picture of two chocolate bunnies, one with the tail bitten off and the other with the ears bitten off. Says the one sans tail, "My butt hurts." Sayeth the other, "Huh?"
PS - is that really a book, or did you make that up...

Would I lie to you?
Let me rephrase that. Would I lie to you without something like dessert being on the line?

I'm now halfway through Robin McKinley's Sunshine and loving it. How have I never read her before? If I'm not mistaken, Julie, you're a McKinley fan, right?

I am indeed, though I've never read Sunshine. I'm saving it. :)

Hiya,
I'm about 3/4 thru reading Regine Crespin's autobiography On Stage, Off Stage and half way thru Custer's Fall, the Indians' take on the Battle at the Little Big Horn. Looking to start on Tatyana Tolstaya's Sleepwalker in a Fog as soon as I'm done with one.

I thought this was the best one in the series so far. I want a review on this when you're done! I want to know what you thought about it.

I'm also trying hard to resist the new Sue Henry book about Maxie and Stretch, because I don't have enough books started already.

I've been kinda bogged down in the Stephen King "Dark Tower" series. I was reading them as they came out since 1982. Once the last two came out in 2004 and were given to me as gifts I decided to start it all from the beginning with the first, "The Gunslinger", and read right through to the end.
Unfortunately it became more a task than a pleasure for a little while when I was trying to squeeze time in to read it. Now I'm enjoying it and I'm just finishing the "Wolves of Calla" the fifth in the series and the first of the last three I've never read at all.
