RIP Lloyd Alexander

Lloyd Alexander passed away Thursday at the age of 83. One of the best children's fantasy (and, infrequently, science fiction) writers out there, Alexander wrote The Prydain Chronicles as well as several other fantasy series and many standalone books. He was productive until close to the end and has a final book coming out this August. In addition to his novels, Alexander was a literacy advocate and often wrote eloquently about the power of imagination in children. He will be sorely missed.

RE: RIP Lloyd Alexander

Thank you for starting this thread, quasar. I kept forgetting to do so.

I adore his books. I hope his passing might alert some readers to the wonders of Prydain.

RE: RIP Lloyd Alexander

A great loss.

My kids' love to imitate Gurgi's "Munchings and crunchings." It's the best tribute I can think of.
