I am not a Potter fan but...
...
Ya know, I am not a Harry Potter fan but...
I think this would make a great gift for the fan or two I know in my family. And perhaps others.
What do you think, Potter-philes..?? Is this appealing to you or not..?? The price seems great to me.
Just wondering...

RE: I am not a Potter fan but...
Since the hardbound books sell for around $20/per, that's a good price for the set. And when they say "boxed set" they really mean "boxed", don't they? Or maybe that should be "trunked set" if those are normal-sized hardbound books. A full set of seven full-sized books would also make a nice weight-lifting exerciser if it had good handles.
It would make a very nice gift.
Oh - and, if you have any rabid Tolkien fans, then THIS would make a very nice gift, too! ;-) |

RE: I am not a Potter fan but...
both of those would make very nice gifts.
I enjoyed the books and movie adaptations of both JRR Tolkiens fantasy world and JK Rowlings fantasy world. |

It would be nice as long as the person didn't already have all the books in hardcover. For me personally, I'm not sure what I would do with it.

RE: I am not a Potter fan but...
The set might have interested me once upon a time, but in recent years, I've stopped buying books for the most part, and rent the majority. Now, the only books I am interested in owning (forgetting the three recent Russian books I picked up on a temporary leave of my senses) are first editions. Some are easy (like The Deathly Hallows). Others have been quite an adventure to track down (like Anne of Green Gables and A Game of Thrones).

Mark
Treat it as an investment..??
Drag out your old, stained, 'hardly-used' copies when you want to re-read and save this set for the grandkids..??
I am: full of bright ideas.
