A Book Question

I work with adults who have developmental disabilities. We go through many, many children books while teaching them to read. They are adults although they have documented "mental" ages from 6-15. Would it be acceptable to review the books we use or would it be NH since they weren't used for the purpose of amusing/teaching children?

I'm looking forward to seeing all thoughts on this.

RE: A Book Question

A book is a book! I read YA books and I think my reviews of them are perfectly valid though I'm a long ways from being YA.

Give your perspective. Give the context for it, which sounds fascinating.

Absolutely acceptable - no doubt about it.

Realistically, all children's books on the site are reviewed from an adult perspective. AFAIK, we don't have any 7-year-olds writing here :)

If you want to include information about how you use particular books that's fine, but don't feel obligated to do so. If you've ever had a child, spent time with a child, or been a child yourself, you have the ability to present a valid point-of-view about a children's book.

RE: A Book Question

Thank you both for answering. I appreciate it. I guess I am going to be busy for a while. We have 3 (4 shelf) book cases jammed with books. :)
