Pros: Very easy to use, easy to clean Cons: Teflon on kneading tool started to flake - short cord.
I originally had this posted under a different model. Now I found the correct model, and because I have GREATLY improved my product writing skills, I decided to revise the review. Enjoy!
Pros: Mixes bread dough thoroughly; nice rising action Cons: Crusts too dark; shape of loaf
I have had my Breadman TR444 for over a year, and in that time I've made hundreds of loaves of bread plus dough for pizza and whatnot. There are a few things I don't like about this machine:
One of my fondest memories of growing up was going to my grandmother or great grandmother's house and the aroma of fresh baked bread wafting through the house.
I've always loved home baked bread but didn't make it myself often because of all...
Pros: Easy & quick to use. Cons: Non-stick coating flaked from paddle. Shaft seal failed - pan leaks.
This was my first bread machine. It quickly sold me on bread machines in general. I like the ease of just measuring the ingredients and then shaking loose a fresh loaf of bread 3 hours later. I've made a wide variety of breads, including many kinds of ...
Pros: Easy to use, clean, and store Cons: no timer for dough
I'm not going to claim to be an expert in the field of bread making but I feel like one with this machine. I have made a number of loaves of bread in it and they have all turned out to be perfect. The teflon coating is a big plus when it comes to...
Pros: Ease of operation. Produces a enjoyable product. Cons: Lack of consumer support.
The drive belt on my unit has gone bad and I am unable to obtain any information as to what steps I may take to replace it. The belt replacement itself is a simple operation but trying to obtain a replacement belt is turning into a major headache.
...
Pros: Easy to operate, many options for settings of crust, additions of fruits/nuts, timer Cons: somewhat noisy and a few times has not mixed ingredients as well as intended
My first bread machine and I find it easy to operate and fun to use. It has great easy features like a timer to add fruit or nuts etc., a delay so you can have fresh bread when you wake up and many a good number of crust settings (light - dark etc.) Almost all the batches I have made turned out as good as I expected and it was very simple - just dump everything in and hit start. It can be a bit loud, but really not bad - especially for the reasonable price.
NOT AS GOOD AS MY FIRST BREADMAN by dmsleeker ,Mar 07 '04
Pros: Easy to use: makes excellent bread. Cons: Bread sticks in pan really bad.
The TR444 is my second Breadman machine -- the other one was 6 or 7 years old and finally quit about a year ago. I purchased the second Breadman due to my good experience with the first one. This model does make a good loaf of bread BUT . . .I've noticed the non-stick coating in the lower two-thirds of the pan is deteriorating and the bread sticks really bad. Now I have to spray the inside of the pan with cooking spray after the second kneading cycle so I can get the finished loaf out without tearing it up. I didn't have this problem with the old one. Also, the kneading paddle no longer has its nonstick coating so a big plug of bread pulls out of the bottom of the loaf. I don't think this machine will last as long as my first one and I'm not sure I will purchase another Breadman.
Makes gourmet bread with little effort by speglades ,Mar 22 '05
Pros: Exceptionally delicious breads with virtually no cleanup. Cons: If there are any we haven't found them!
I can't eat gluten-containing foods so all my bread needs to be made from alternate flours like rice, corn, etc., and the Breadman is a life-saver. It is easy to program for a wide array of breads and cakes using any flours or mixes, it is relatively quiet during the mixing and kneading cycles and cleaning is effortless.
The quality of the breads it makes is top-shelf and my wife, who is not gluten-intolerant, now makes all her own breads with the Breadman in lieu of buying them at the bakery because of the taste and ease of use.
Good bread, poor quality machine, Breadman Ultimate by barabas ,Feb 10 '07
Pros: Mixes and kneads nicely Cons: Very poor quality, no service, no parts, way to expensive for what you get.
I've been baking my own bread for years, and only use the bread machine for mixing then letting the bread rise and bake in the oven. This is my second Breadman and I've had it only a year. The shaft for the paddle has fallen out and leaks. It's the exact same problem as my first one. It is impossible to find parts for them. This will be my last Breadman.
Pros: Bread was good when it worked. Cons: CHEAP PARTS THAT DON'T LAST AND TERRIBLE SUPPORT!!!
The Bread Maker worked good when it worked. Unfortunately that was very long. I've had it for more than a year, but I havn't used it that much. Went to use it and it won't turn. Took it apart to see what was wrong and the large gear is in 6 pieces. Called them to buy a new one and they told me I needed to buy a new bread maker because they don't sell parts and couldn't put in contact with any one that could sell me the parts. So I started looking online for the gear. I didn't find it, but I did find that I'm not the only one with this problem. There are a lot of people that this happened to. It wouldn't bother me so bad if they made the parts available to buy. I won't be buying from Salton again. They use cheap parts and don't even offer replacement.
